Chicken curry

Chicken Curry is one of those dishes that can be prepared in various ways but nothing compares to a simple and most traditional recipe for preparing Chicken Curry! Ingredients for Chicken Curry Recipe

 

  • Chicken 700 gms
  • Onions 4 (medium)
  • Ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 4 (medium)
  • Fresh coriander leaves 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Ghee 4 tbsp
  • Cinnamon 1 inch
  • Cloves 4
  • Green cardamom 4
  • Cumin powder 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Salt, according to taste

Step by Step recipe to prepare Chicken Curry

 Step 1: Heat oil in a thick-bottomed pan. Add cloves, green cardamoms and cinnamon, and sauté for around a minute.  Now add onions and sauté till golden brown.

Step 2: Add ginger paste and garlic paste and sauté for three more minutes. Don’t forget to stir in between.

Step 3: Add the remaining spices (turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder) and mix well.

Step 4: Now add tomato puree and keep stirring till oil separates from the masala.

Step 5:  Add chicken pieces to the mixture and salt. Sauté for 7 minutes/

Step 6: Add three cups water and bring to boil. Cover the lid and cook till the chicken is fully cooked.

Step 7: Sprinkle garam masala powder. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
