Paneer Chilli

It is mainly a fry mix of deep fried paneer cubes with green capsicum and onion topped with sumptuous sauces from the Chinese cuisine. You can either serve it as a starter or a main course. If you are using it as a main course, all you would need to do is add some corn starch to give it a base of thickened gravy.

Ingredients:

  • Paneer 200 grams
  • Green Chillies 1 tbsp
  • Cornflour 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic crushed 2 cloves
  • Onion – sliced thickly 1 medium
  • Green capsicums - sliced thickly into stripes - 2 small
  • Salt – According to taste
  • Soy sauce 1 tablespoon

Step by Step Instruction to prepare Chilli Paneer Recipe:

  1. Cut the cottage cheese into medium-sized cubes. Heat sufficient oil in a pan for deep frying. Roll the cheese cubes in 1 tablespoon of cornflour and deep fry on medium heat till they start turning brown.
  2. Drain on absorbent paper. Mix the remaining cornflour in 3/4th cup of water.
  3. Heat two tablespoons oil in another pan and add garlic. Stir-fry for about a minute.
  4. Add onion and capsicum. Stir fry them for about a minute and add cheese cubes. Now add salt and soy sauce and mix well.
  5. Add the cornflour mixture and cook on high heat. Stir and toss the mixture continuously until the sauce thickens and properly coat the cheese and the vegetables.

 

Serve hot immediately.
