Mexican-Nachos

Nachos are a Tex-Mex dish from Northern Mexico. The dish is popular throughout Texas. Nachos can be of different variation like it consists of tortillas topped with a layer of beans, meat, shredded cheese and hot sauce. Nachos can be of barbecue sauce and cheese sauce. Another variation of nachos is Dessert Nachos. These include cinnamon, sugar, marshmallow, chocolate and crackers.

The dish is mainly composed of tortilla chips covered with cheese and cheese-based sauce, mostly served as a snack. Nachos are the amazing party food and when loaded up with meat or chicken and veggies they also make a great main course for sharing. One can try variations on classic Mexican nachos for fun. Nachos can be served as a vegetarian food too if one doesn’t use meat or chicken. Hence when the tortilla chips are baked and have veggies only then it is very healthy to eat. Originally Nachos were made from fried tortillas. There were then topped with cheese and meat chunks along with other things. Today, Nachos are preferred by most of the people because they are super delicious, easy to make, easy to eat and healthy. They have a fairly good amount of calories and calcium in-stored.

 Mexican loaded nachos take only about 12 to 15 minutes to cook and will top all your favorite toppings. Nachos can be served as feasts along with food, as starters, or as refreshments. The cheesy flavor makes mexican loaded nachos more tempting. These nachos are mouth-watering and easy to make. All you need is a sheet pan, tortilla chips, shredded cheese and your favorite toppings. You can top it with lots of cheese, chicken, corn, black beans, green capsicum, onions, tomatoes, olives, jalapenos and sour cream.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 packed of tortilla chips
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese (grated)
  • ½ mozzarella cheese (grated)
  • 1 cup of small chicken chunks or shreds
  • ½ to 1/3 cup of corn
  • ¼ cup green capsicum
  • 1/3 cup cubed or chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup cubed or chopped tomatoes
  • ½ to 1/3 cup of black beans
  • Olives as much as you like
  • Slices of Jalapeno
  • Yogurt (sour cream) 

Steps to Prepare:

  1. Start cooking chicken on a low flame. Keep cooking until the transparent chicken starts getting white colored.
  2. Spread the tortilla chips onto a large baking sheet.
  3. Cover it completely with shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Add mozzarella shredded mozzarella cheese over it.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven until the cheese is melted. It will take around 45 seconds. Make sure you watch it as it might get burn easily.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from oven and top the tortilla chips with chicken, corn, black beans, green capsicum, and tomatoes.
  7. Return the baking sheet to the oven for another 30 to 45 seconds.
  8. Top the nachos with some olives, sour cream and jalapenos.
